ITHACA, N.Y. – Senior
Marina Pettinicchi (Bellport) finished in 22nd place to lead Cortland's runners at the Cornell University John Reif Memorial Run. The 5,000-meter race was conducted on the Moakley Course at Cornell's Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Pettinicchi finished the 52-runner race in 20 minutes, 40 seconds. The non team-scoring race consisted primarily of runners from Div. I schools Cornell and Syracuse along with Cortland. Junior
Jackie Boyce (Schaghticoke/Greenwich) continued a pack of Red Dragon runners with a 23rd-place time of 20:43, followed by junior
Abbey Gray (Homer) in 25th place (20:58).

Susan Lopez (Syracuse/Westhill) finished 27th (21:12), junior
Mandy Sacca (Latham/Shaker) was 28th (21:27), freshman
Rachael Markoe (Lagrangeville/Arlington) finished 30th (21:31) and senior
Jessie Hughes (Pawling) crossed the line 31st (21:46).
Cortland, ranked 27th nationally in Div. III and fifth in the Atlantic Region, will compete at the SUNYAC Championships next Saturday, Nov. 1, at Brockport. The men's race will start at 11 a.m., followed by the women's race at noon.
