BETHLEHEM, PA. – Cortland's women finished seventh overall and were the second-best Div. III school in the Brown Division of the Lehigh University Paul Short Run. The Red Dragons finished with 318 points. Bucknell won the race with 81 points. The 40-team race featured 16 Div. I schools, of which 11 placed behind Cortland.
Junior
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) turned in a 42nd-place finish out of 360 runners with her time of 22 minutes, 41 seconds over 6,000 meters. Senior

Kerri Culhane (Sayville) were 59th (22:51) and 61st (22:52), respectively.

Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) and junior
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) were each clocked officially in 23:05, with Little taking 85th place and Balzano 87th. Sophomore
Allison Schumann (North Salem) also placed in the top third of the field with a 95th-place time of 23:09.
Also competing for Cortland in the division were: freshman
Megan Wagner (Niskayuna) in 159th place (23:44); junior
Jackie Boyce (Schaghticoke/Greenwich) in 190th place (24:03); freshman
Sara Billings (Gansevoort/South Glens Falls) in 245th place (24:32); and freshman
Jenny Messina (Queensbury) in 266th place (24:43).
Nine Red Dragons ran in the Paul Short Open Division. Cortland's best performer in that race was freshman
Stephanie Carrier (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) in 177th place out of 402 runners in 24:35.
Cortland will compete next Saturday, Oct. 11, at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
