BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The nationally 27th-ranked Cortland women's cross country team finished in third place out of 10 schools at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships, hosted by The College at Brockport on a cold and damp Saturday morning.
The Red Dragons finished with 80 points, just eight points behind second-place Oneonta. Geneseo won the team title with 19 points as the Knights took five of the top-six spots.

Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) was Cortland's top finisher, crossing the finish line in 12th place, covering the 6,000-meter course in 23:05.1. Geneseo senior Cassie Goodman won the race in 21:58.2. Junior
Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) finished 15th (23:16.8) to join Balzano on the All-SUNYAC third team.

Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) and junior
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) finished as Cortland's third, fourth and fifth scorers, crossing the finish line one after another. Culhane was 19th in 23:23.9, Dye followed in 20th place (23:29.0) and Blomback came in 21st in 23:31.3.
Rounding out Cortland's top seven finishers were freshman
Allison Schumann (North Salem) in 23rd place (23:35.8) and freshman
Megan Wagner (Niskayuna) in 34th place (24:15.4).
