Nick Marcantonio (Glens Falls) earned All-America honors for the third straight year as Cortland finished in 19th place out of 32 schools at the 2014 NCAA Div. III Men's Cross Country Championships. The race was hosted by Wilmington College at the Golf Center at Kings Island.
Marcantonio finished in 23rd place out of 280 runners over the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes, 31.7 seconds. He also finished 23rd nationally in both 2012 and 2013. The top 35 runners at nationals earn All-America recognition. Grant Wintheiser of St. Olaf won the race in 23:44.9.
Making its eighth national appearance in nine years and 17th overall, Cortland finished with a team score of 489 points for its 15th top-20 finish. North Central won its third title in four years with 130 points, followed by St. Olaf (143), Wisconsin-La Crosse (188), Washington (Mo.) (192) and Colby (192) in the top five. Washington took fourth over Colby based on a tiebreaker procedure.

Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) finished in 43rd place in 24:47.3. Sophomore
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) was 114th in 25:27.5 and senior
Joe Ray (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) placed 198th in 25:56.0.
Rounding out the Cortland contingent were freshman
Jesse Perrone (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) in 261st place (26:46.6), senior
Tim Odin (Northport) in 269th place (26:54.8) and sophomore
Alex Hall (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) in 276th place (27:24.9).
