Kayla Blomback was Cortland's top finisher with a 115th-place time of 23:20.9 over 6,000 meters
MASON, OHIO – Cortland's women's cross country team finished in 26th place at the NCAA Div. III Championships, hosted by Wilmington College at the Golf Center at Kings Island.
The Red Dragons, making their 22nd national appearance and first since 2010, finished with 614 points. Johns Hopkins won its third national title with 87 points, followed by MIT (112), St. Lawrence (138), Washington University (Mo.) (180) and Geneseo (212) in the top five of the 32-team field.
Junior
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) was Cortland's top finisher on the 6,000-meter course with a 115th-place time of 23 minutes, 20.9 seconds. Amy Regan of Stevens Institute finished first out of 280 runners in 20:51.9.
Junior
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) placed 151st in 23:36.3 and senior
Ameena Dye (DeWitt/Jamesville-DeWitt) was 177th in 23:46.2. Junior
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) and junior
Michelyn Little (Voorheesville/Clayton A. Bouton) finished the race at basically the same time. Culhane was 185th in 23:49.5 and Little finished 187th in 23:49.9.
Sophomore
Allison Schumann (North Salem) finished in 224th place in 24:14.7. Freshman
Megan Wagner (Niskayuna) also competed for the Red Dragons but did not finish the race.
