PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Despite Cortland falling to nationally fourth-ranked Plattsburgh, 7-1, in SUNYAC action Saturday night, Red Dragon freshman goalie Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) registered a school-record 65 saves to break the old mark of 59 set by Nate Ziemski against Mercyhurst during the 1998-99 season.

Cortland's goal came off the stick of senior Nick Zappia (Manlius/Kingston Voyageurs) with the assists going to freshmen Dan Broderick (White Plains/New York PAL Islanders) and Darren McCormick (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres).

Seven different players scored for Plattsburgh led by Connor Toomey with one goal and three assists. Kyle Hall, Michael Cassidy and Alex Brenton each recorded one goal and one assist, while Patrick Hermans, Rich Botting and Luke Baleshta netted one goal apiece. Goalie Spencer Finney made 19 saves through the first two periods before giving way to Ryan Hubbard, who stopped two shots in the third period.
