Jason Rivera (Slate Hill/Minisink Valley) won both diving events and junior
Jack Jakubek (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) turned in a pair of runner-up finishes to lead Cortland at the five-team, two-day Hamilton College Men's Swimming and Diving Invitational.
Cortland finished third with a score of 675 points. Hamilton won the team crown with 1,068.5 points, followed by Oneonta (790.5), Cortland, Colby (565.5) and Potsdam (459.5).
Rivera posted the top score on both the 3-meter board (200.70 points) and 1-meter board (196.90 points). Jakubek finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:01.05) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.71). Senior
Mark Hanifin (Fort Plain) finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (48.63) as well as third in both the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.54) and 200-yard freestyle (1:48.43).

Alex Spatzer (Buffalo/Kenmore West) finished third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.88) and freshman
Brendin Thompson (Pine Bush) was third in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.77). Senior

Dylan Burns (Cornwall) was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (22.66).
The Red Dragons' best relay finish was a second-place showing by Burns, Jakubek, McManus and Hanifin in the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.16). Four other Cortland relays earned third-place finishes: Hanifin, senior

Brian Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:28.95); Burns, Jakubek, McManus and Strothenke in the 400-yard medley relay (3:39.86); and Hanifin, Burns, Spatzer and Thompson in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:19.50).
Cortland returns to action on Saturday, January 10, at 1 p.m. with a dual meet at Hartwick College.
