OSWEGO, NY. – The nationally 10th-ranked Oswego men's hockey team built a 3-0 first-period lead and held on to claim a 4-2 win versus Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons dropped to 4-13-3 overall and 3-7-2 in the conference, while the Lakers improved to 13-4-2 and 6-3-1.

Brandon Adams registered a goal and an assist for the Lakers, while Chris Waterstreet, Kenny Neil and Nick Rivait each added a goal, Shawn Halshof, Manny Gialedakis and Mike Montagna chipped in with one assist apiece. Goalie Justin Gilbert turned aside 28 shots.
After falling behind 3-0 through the first 20 minutes of play, the Red Dragons battled back to pull to within 3-2 late in the third period. Mascaro scored his first of the season at eight minutes, 12 seconds of the second period, and Henrici netted his sixth goal of the season at 16:00 of the final period. With just over two and half minutes left in regulation, Oswego took a penalty, but Adams notched a short-handed goal with 1:35 left on the clock to seal the win. Cortland pulled Balkwill for an extra skater after the goal but could not capitalize.
