ITHACA, N.Y. – Junior Taylor Hudson (Victor) set a school indoor record in the high jump as one of three ECAC-qualifying performances at the Cornell University Marc Deneault Invitational women's track and field meet.

Hudson cleared 1.70 meters (5' 7") for a fourth-place finish at the meet. She broke the school mark of 1.69 meters that she shared with two other athletes. Hudson currently ranks third nationally in Div. III in the event. She also placed third of 20 in the long jump at 5.33 meters (17' 6") and was 10th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.43 seconds.

In all, Cortland recorded 15 ECAC qualifying efforts at the meet. Junior Valerie Vancol (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) was fifth of 38 in the shot put at 12.59 meters (41' 3.75") and sophomore Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) placed sixth of 36 in the mile in 5:11.30. Senior Africa Harper (Bornx/John F. Kennedy) and junior Gabrielle Conant (Tully) finished seventh (1:00.73) and ninth (1:01.24), respectively, in the 400-meter dash.

Senior Lisa Bodratti (Valatie/Ichabod Crane) finished seventh of 34 in the 60-meter hurdles with a finals time of 9.43 seconds (9.37 in prelims). Sophomore Angelique Jean-Charles (Elmont/Valley Stream) was ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with her prelim time of 9.43 seconds but, like Hudson, missed the finals by a hundredth of a second.

Bodratti was one of three Red Dragons with ECAC times in the 200-meter dash. Freshman Dana Kupiec (Salem) finished ninth of 36 in 26.51 seconds. Junior Hannah Anthes (Liverpool) was 16th in 27.16 seconds and Bodratti was 18th in 27.26 seconds.

Freshman Amanda Moore (Massapequa) finished 10th of 36 in the 60-meter dash in 7.95 seconds. Sophomore Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) was third in the 600 meters in 1:39.23; her time converts to an ECAC qualifier in the 500 meters. Rounding out Cortland's list of ECAC qualifiers was the 4x400-meter relay team of Kupiec, Conant, junior Kiersten Duroe (Horseheads) and Harper with a third-place time of 4:03.26.

Other highlights included a third-place showing by Moore in the 300 meters (42.61) and a ninth-place finish by freshman Christine LaVoie (Fayeteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) in the 500 meters (1:24.67). Sophomore Kayla Koelbel (Bradford, PA/Kings Park (NY)) finished 10th in the long jump (4.90 meters – 16' 1"), 11th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.59) and 11th in the high jump (1.55 meters – 5' 1"), Duroe was 11th in the 400 meters (1:01.56), and sophomore Alex Seymour (Dryden) placed 11th in the pole vault (3.15 meters – 10' 4").

Cortland will compete at the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday, March 1, at Brockport and will look to win its third straight conference indoor title.
