Ten Eyck, Prendergast Highlight Cortland's Efforts at Ithaca Quad Meet

Connor Ten Eyck won the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying height of 14' 11"
ITHACA, N.Y. – Junior Connor Ten Eyck (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and senior Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) each registered ECAC-qualifying efforts at the Ithaca College Bomber Quad Meet.

There was no team scoring at the meet, which featured athletes from Ithaca, Cortland, Cobleskill and Alfred State, along with some Cornell junior varsity members.

Ten Eyck won the pole vault in a field of 16 competitors with a height of 4.55 meters (14' 11"). Prendergast finished second of 19 in the weight throw with an ECAC distance of 15.61 meters (51' 2.75"). He also was second in the shot put out of 20 competitors, but missed ECAC qualifying with his distance of 13.56 meters (44' 6").

Senior Tom Calandra (Amherst/Williamsville North) finished second in the pole vault at 4.40 meters (14' 5.25") and senior Billy Ray (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) was third in the shot put at 12.76 meters (41' 10.5").

On the track, freshman Charlie Beeler (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) placed second in the 400-meter dash (52.52), followed by sophomore Joe Moschitto (Briarcliff Manor/Briarcliff) in fifth place (53.57). Junior Steven Pungello (Washingtonville) finished third in the mile (4:27.38) and junior Jared Walther (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) was fifth (4:32.73).

In the 60-meter hurdles, freshman Connor Christopherson (Morrisonville/Saranac) finished fifth in 8.81 seconds after recording a time of 8.72 seconds in prelims. The Red Dragons' 4x400-meter relay team of junior Ian McMahon (Waverly), Moschitto, sophomore Nate Ashton (Norwich) and freshman Ryan Jelinek (Poughkeepsie/Spackenkill) finished fourth (3:39.49).
