Four Red Dragon Men Hit ECAC Marks at Brockport Golden Eagle Invite

Zach Zieniewicz finsihed third in the 60-meter hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8.60 seconds
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Junior Glen Forsythe (Uniondale) set a meet record in the long jump and was one of four Cortland ECAC qualifiers at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational.

Forsythe won the long jump with a distance of 7.08 meters (23' 2.75") that currently ranks sixth nationally in Div. III. Junior Nick Avossa (Kingston) and junior Zach Zieniewicz (Seaford) finished second and third, respectively, in a field of 36 in the 60-meter hurdles. Avossa was timed in 8.44 seconds and Zieniewicz in 8.60 seconds, both ECAC qualifiers.

Junior Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) also met ECAC standards with his second-place time of 15:22.74 in the 5,000-meter run.

Freshman Kenenna Emekekwue (Elmont/Sewanhaka) won the 60-meter dash in a field of 58 entrants in 7.16 seconds. Junior Khaaliq Evans (Queens/Uniondale) was fifth (7.35, 7.32 in prelims), junior Jon Granger (Ticonderoga) finished ninth (7.37) and junior Andre Green (Watertown/Indian River) was 10th (7.40).

Junior Arturo Salas (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) finished third in the 5,000 meters (16:06.27), with freshman Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) placing eighth (16:06.27). Sophomore Darrius Samples (Islandia/Hauppauge) finished fifth in the triple jump (12.79 meters – 41' 11.5") and 10th of 73 in the 200-meter dash (23.76), and freshman Mike Cruz (West Haverstraw/North Rockland) placed sixth in the triple jump (12.57 meters – 41' 3").
