BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Junior
Taylor Hudson (Victor) tied the school record in the high jump to highlight Cortland's showings at the Brockport Golden Eagle Invitational.
Hudson finished first out of 25 competitors by clearing 1.69 meters (5' 6.5") to set a new meet record and match the school record held by Susan Gracz (1992) and Kristen Serikstad (2009). Hudson currently ranks sixth nationally in Div. III and is an ECAC qualifier in the event.
Hudson also met the ECAC standard with her second-place long jump of 5.28 meters (17' 4") in a field of 31 athletes. In addition, she finished second of 30 in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.58 seconds. Sophomore
Angelique Jean-Charles (Elmont/Valley Stream) finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.70 seconds, while freshman
Sarah Shellard (Victor) was sixth in 9.93 seconds (9.83 in prelims).

Whitney Ford (Oswego) placed sixth of 63 sprinters in the 200-meter dash (27.60) and was also seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 10.56 meters (34' 7.75"). Sophomore
Kayla Koelbel (Bradford, PA/Kings Park (NY)) and senior
Alex Budd (Riverhead) tied for fifth place in the high jump, each clearing 1.50 meters (4' 11").
Koelbel was also 10th in the long jump (4.98 meters – 16' 4.25"), while sophomore
Carla Auguste (Brooklyn/Midwood) finished sixth in the triple jump at 10.59 meters (34' 9").
