Miranda Fergus finished 13th of 24 competitors in 1-meter diving to earn honorable mention All-America honors

Miranda Fergus (Millbrook) earned honorable mention All-America honors with a 13th-place finish in 1-meter diving at the NCAA Div. III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The event is being held at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Fergus advanced to the consolation finals with her preliminary score of 386.10 points. She ranked 14th after prelims, then improved to 13th during the consolation final with a score of 389.35 points. Divers repeat their first six dives and keep their final five dives in the finals and consolation finals.The top eight finishers earn All-America honors and places nine through 16 are honorable mention.
Macalester's Renee Jordan won the national title with a score of 468.90 points. Finishers among New York schools included Fredonia's Ashley Keller in 11th place (394.85 points), Ithaca's Nicki Griesemer in 15th place (380.50 points), Rochester's Danielle Neu was 17th (374.70 points), Ithaca's Heather Markus in 19th place (370.95 points), Fredonia's Katelyn Haley in 22nd place (359.45 points) and Hartwick's Lindsay Bowker in 23rd place (355.20 points).
Fergus scored four team points for her 13th-place effort. She will compete in the 3-meter diving competition on Saturday.
