BOSTON, MASS. – The Cortland men's indoor track and field team tied for 28th place out of 62 schools that scored points at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Div. III Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center.
The Red Dragons, last year's team champion, finished with 11 points. Bates won the team title with 47 points.
Senior
Tom Hopkins (Syracuse/West Genesee) finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run in 15:01.27. Senior
Tim Lee (West Babylon) placed eighth in the event in 15:17.39.
Freshman
Connor Christopherson (Morrisonville/Saranac) broke his own school record in the heptathlon with a sixth-place score of 4,331 points. His highest scoring events were the 60-meter hurdles with 781 points (8.84 seconds) and the 1,000-meter run with 715 points (2:54.94).
Junior
Nick Avossa (Kingston) placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles. He qualified for the finals with a time of 8.35 seconds and his finals time was 12.23 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore

Bailey Imbo (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) and sophomore
Jerel Williams (East Islip) also scored points with an eighth-place time of 3:24.52.
Two Red Dragons just missed scoring performances with ninth-place finishes. Williams was ninth in the 400-meter dash in 50.10 seconds and senior
Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) finished ninth in the weight throw at 16.44 meters (53' 11.25").
