ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Cortland men's outdoor track and field team tied for eighth place out of 23 teams at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational Sunday at Fauver Stadium on the Rochester campus. The Red Dragons finished with 43 points. Brockport won the title with 139 points, followed by Rochester with 90 points. Cortland did not field a full team as a number of Red Dragons competed at the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational earlier in the weekend.

Senior Tyler Prendergast (Waterford/Shenendehowa) scored nearly half of Cortland's points with a first-place finish in the hammer throw, a second-place effort in the discus and a fifth-place showing in the shot put. Freshman Alex Hall (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) and freshman Anthony Galvan (Riverhead) finished third (9:57.37) and sixth (10:15.28), respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Saint Germain was also ninth in the 400-meter dash (52.63) and 15th in the 200-meter dash (23.24). Senior Casey Austin (Pine Plains) placed ninth in the 5,000 meters (15:47.90) and junior Woody Millar (Saratoga Springs) finished 10th in the javelin (43.76 meters – 143' 7") and 14th in the discus (35.27 meters – 115' 8").

Richardson was 10th in the 400-meter hurdles (59.87) and sophomore Dante Binotto III (Canajoharie) placed 10th in the javelin (42.82 meters – 140' 6"). Sophomore Peter Sigona (Auburn) was 11th in the long jump (6.17 meters – 20' 3") and junior Daniel Margo (Oneida) placed 11th in the shot put (12.61 meters – 41' 4.5").
