Kayla Koelbel tied for third in the high jump and finished fifth in the 100-meter hurdles
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Fourteen different athletes contributed to the team scoring as the Cortland women's outdoor track and field team finished fourth out of 23 schools at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational. The meet was held Sunday at Rochester's Fauver Stadium.
St. Lawrence won the team title with 137 points, followed by Rochester (129), Brockport (55), Cortland (54) and Geneseo (45) in the top five. Cortland did not field a complete roster since some of its athletes competed at the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational earlier in the weekend.
Junior
Valerie Vancol (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) finished second out of 35 in the discus with an ECAC-qualifying distance of 39.67 meters (130' 2"). She also recorded two other top-20 finishes outside of the scoring top eight with an 11th-place shot put of 10.46 meters (34' 4") and an 18th-place hammer throw of 35.79 meters (117' 5").
Sophomore
Kayla Koelbel (Bradford, PA/Kings Park (NY)) tied for third in the high jump by clearing 1.49 meters (4' 10.5") and was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.56 seconds. Junior
Hannah Anthes (Liverpool) finished fourth of 58 in the 100-meter dash (13.03) and seventh of 91 in the 200-meter dash (26.90).

Regina Bulson (Marlboro) finished fourth (42:23.26) and fifth (43:10.18), respectively, in the 10,000-meter run. Sophomore

Carla Auguste (Brooklyn/Midwood) finished ninth in the triple jump (10.27 meters – 33' 8.5"), just missing a top-eight scoring finish, while freshman
Sarah Shellard (Victor) finished 13th in the 100-meter hurdles (17.30).
