Glen Forsythe Registers All-America Seventh-Place Triple Jump Finish at NCAAs

DELAWARE, OHIO - Cortland junior Glen Forsythe (Uniondale) earned All-America recognition with a seventh-place finish in the triple jump during the final day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The three-day meet was hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

In the preliminary round of three jumps, Forsythe opened at 13.99 meters, then fouled on his second attempt. His third attempt of 14.49 meters moved him into the top nine in the 20-athlete field and qualified him for the final round of three jumps.

In the finals, he fouled on his first try before landing his best distance of the day at 14.55 meters (47' 9"). He fouled on his last attempt. His top performance moved him into seventh place, where he finished a quarter of an inch out of sixth and less than three inches away from fifth. The top eight finishers are All-Americans. Southern Maine's Jamie Ruginski won the triple jump at 15.13 meters (49' 7.75").

Forsythe scored two team points as Cortland's lone scorer at the meet. Cortland tied for 69th place out of 82 teams that scored points. Mount Union won the team title with 47 points.
