The Red Dragons celebrate after winning the team title at Roberts Wesleyan.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sparked by six top-25 finishes, the Cortland men's cross county squad claimed the team title at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan University.
The Red Dragons posted a score of 40 points, two better than Div. I Cornell's 42. Roberts Wesleyan (71), Fredonia (104) and Molloy (196) rounded out the top five. A total of 25 schools competed.

Nick Marcantonio (Glens Falls) won the 8,000-meter race in 25 minutes, 41 seconds, with senior teammate
Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) second in 25:45. A total of 233 runners competed.

Joe Ray (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) placed seventh in 26:04 and senior
Steven Pungello (Washingtonville) was 11th in 26:10. Sophomore
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) turned in a 19th-place time of 26:41 and sophomore
Alex Hall (Caledonia/Caledonia-Mumford) was 21st in 26:50. Freshman
Jesse Perrone (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) completed Cortland's top-seven group with a 37th-place effort of 27:27, while sophomore
Gabe Rodriguez (Geneseo) placed 64th in 27:59.
Cortland returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
