TROY, N.Y. – The Cortland women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place out of seven schools at the RPI Kumpf Invitational.
The Red Dragons finished with 179 points. Ithaca won the team title with 501 points, followed by RPI (305.5), William Smith (210.5), Cortland, Clarkson (93), Skidmore (81) and Cobleskill (21). In the dual scoring at the meet, Cortland finished 3-3 with wins over Clarkson, Skidmore and Cobleskill.
Junior
Miranda Fergus (Pleasant Valley/Millbrook) finished second in both diving events with scores of 280.50 points on the 3-meter board and 264.20 points in the 1-meter competition. Junior
Chelsey Simon (Oneida) placed second in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.34) and seventh in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:22.77).
Sophomore
Angelica Ford (Chicago, IL/Elk Grove Village) finished fourth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:21.84) and eighth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.89) and sophomore
Amanda Grossman (Schaghticoke/Hoosic Valley) was fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (57.61). Senior
Krista Caputo (Staten Island/Curtis) turned in a sixth-place effort in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.55), while senior
Lauren Kaplowitz (Stamford, CT/Westhill) and junior
Chloe Freideman (Whitney Point) finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (26.68) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:41.61), respectively.
Ford, Freideman, Simon and Grossman finished fourth in the 400-yard medley relay (4:17.71). Freshman
