CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior Brett Hope (Blenheim, ON/St. Thomas Stars ) recorded a hat trick to help lead the Buffalo St. men's hockey team to a 7-3 win over Cortland Saturday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons fell to 7-8-3 overall and 3-6-2 in the conference, while Bengals improved to 7-10-2 and 3-5-2.

Freshman Dan Broderick (White Plains/New York PAL Islanders) netted two goals to pace the Cortland offense. Freshman Tommy Nolan (Mahopac/Connecticut Oilers) scored a goal, senior Nick Zappia (Manlius/Kingston Voyageurs) registered three assists, freshman Darren McCormick (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) collected two assists and senior Kevin Antonik (Central Islip/New Jersey Hitmen) chipped in with an assist. Freshman goalie Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) made 19 saves in 40:33 before giving way to freshman Kollyn Jones (Cazenovia/New York PAL Islanders), who stopped five shots in 19:27.

Freshman Jason Zaleski (Scranton, PA/Trenton Golden Hawks) tallied a pair of goals for Buffalo St. with junior Scott Roy (Rockland, ON/Gloucester Rangers) and freshman Zach Nieminen (Ajax, ON/Ancaster Avalanche) each contributing a goal. Junior Ryan Salkeld (Suffolk, VA/Hampton Roads Jr. Whalers) collected three assists, junior Ben Kramer (Great Neck/Springfield Jr. Blues) and sophomore Nick Schiro (Sanborn/Port Colborne Pirates) each recorded two assists and six others chipped in with one assist apiece.
