Aaron Granger was Cortland's third finisher with a 51st-place time of 27:22 over 8,000 meters
BETHLEHEM, PA. – Cortland's men's cross country team finished in fourth place out of 39 schools in the White Division of the Lehigh University Paul Short Run. The Red Dragons posted a score of 192 points, four ahead of Franklin & Marshall. Mary Washington won the team title with 145 points, followed by Misericordia (153) and Gettysburg (154).
Among the schools that Cortland defeated were Division II programs St. Rose, Southern Connecticut St., Seton Hill, Bloomsburg, Davis & Elkins, Philadelphia University, and Nyack.
Junior
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) finished fourth out of 308 runners with a time of 25 minutes, 48 seconds over 8,000 meters. Southern Connecticut's Dieter Gutbrod won the race in 25:25.
Six other Red Dragons finished in the top 75. Sophomore
Jesse Perrone (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) was 18th in 26:37 and sophomore
Aaron Granger (Delevan/Pioneer) finished 51st in 27:22. Freshman
Jake Zedack (Mexico),
Andrew Espey (West Hempstead/Holy Trinity),
Grant Boyd (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) and
Christian Yorks (Warwick/Warwick Valley) placed 56th (27:26), 63rd (27:30), 68th (27:34) and 72nd (27:36), respectively.
Cortland will compete at the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10 at noon, with the women's race preceding the men at 11 a.m.
