BETHLEHEM, PA. – The Cortland women's cross country team finished 16th overall, and fifth among Div. III schools, in the Brown Division of the Lehigh University Paul Short Run.
Cortland finished with 416 points, eight better than both Siena and The College of New Jersey. Div. I St. Joseph's (Pa.) won the team title with 166 points. The Red Dragons defeated 10 of the 17 Div. I schools and six of the 10 Div. II schools in the 45-team field.

Mary Baughman (Rush/Rush-Henrietta) finished 15th in a field of 387 runners in 21 minutes, 58 seconds on the 6,000-meter Goodman Cross Country Course. Katie McMenamin of Swarthmore crossed the finish line first in 21:23.

Allison Schumann (North Salem) finished 64th in 22:38 and senior
Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) was 83rd in 22:47. Rounding out Cortland's top five were senior
Kailyn Balzano (East Greenbush/Columbia) in 116th place (23:05) and sophomore
Sara Billings (Gansevoort/South Glens Falls) in 138th place (23:17).
Three other Red Dragons finished in the top half of the field. Senior
Kerri Culhane (Sayville) was 158th (23:26), sophomore
Megan Wagner (Niskayuna) finished 172nd (23:33), and senior
Jackie Boyce (Schaghticoke/Greenwich) placed 185th (23:40).
Cortland also had a handful of competitors in the Open Division race, led by senior
Abbey Gray's (Homer) 167th place finish out of 298 runners in 25:04 over 6,000 meters.
Cortland will compete at the Hamilton Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m., with the men's race to follow at noon.
