Brenna Lyons was Cortland's top finisher with a 19th-place time of 20:16.3 over 5,000 meters

Brenna Lyons (Addison) and sophomore
Melissa Emilio (Oneonta) were Cortland's top two finishers in the women's cross country race at the Cornell University John Reif Memorial Run. The event, which did not feature team scoring, was held at the Moakley Course at Cornell's Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.
Lyons finished 19th out of 42 runners over 5,000 meters in 20 minutes, 16.3 seconds, while Emilio was 20th in 20:57.3. Mary Malone from Syracuse University won the race in 17:39.3.
Freshman
Kaylee Uhl (Waverly) finished 24th in 21:35.2. Rounding out Cortland's top seven were: senior
Nikki Bermudez (Lindenhurst) in 27th place (22:32.5); freshman
Sara Stewart (Huntington) in 28th place (22:44.0); freshman
Christiann McCoy (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury) in 29th place (22:50.7); and graduate student
Hannah Anthes (Liverpool) in 30th place (23:11.8).
Cortland, ranked 30th nationally in Div. III, will compete at the SUNYAC Championships next Saturday, Oct. 31, at SUNY Plattsburgh. The women's race is at 11 a.m., followed by the men at noon.
