BOSTON, MASS. – Senior
Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) turned in a national top-20 ranked seasonal performance in the mile to highlight Cortland's efforts at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational men's indoor track and field meet.
Iacovelli finished 61st out of 314 entrants with his time of 4:13.35, which is an ECAC qualifier and presently ranks 17th nationally in Div. III.
Senior
Melique Garcia (Watervliet) finished 16th of 206 in the 200-meter dash with an ECAC time of 21.82 seconds. Junior
Jerel Williams (East Islip) was 56th of 194 in the 400-meter dash in 49.70 seconds, also an ECAC qualifier, while junior
Keewan Rondinello (Liverpool), freshman
Richard Taylor (Westbury), junior
Romain Saint Germain (Westbury) and Williams reached ECAC status with their 4x400-meter relay time of 3:23.09.
Other notable Red Dragon accomplishments included: Rondinello's 78th place time in the 400-meter dash (50.35); sophomore
Bailey Imbo's (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) 80th place effort of 206 in the 800-meter run (1:57.04), with sophomore
Nate Wicks (Baldwinsville/C.W.Baker) finishing 87th (1:57.52); and sophomore
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) placing 150th in the mile (4:22.41).
Cortland will send competitors to the Cornell Sunday Invitational Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. and will have athletes going next week to both the Ithaca College Bomber Tri-Meet and the 168th Street Armory Meet in New York City.
