Garcia Finishes Second Nationally in 200-Meter Dash; Shinn 60m Hurdles All-American

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior Melique Garcia (Watervliet) finished as the national runner-up in the 200-meter dash and junior Joe Shinn (New Rochelle) also earned All-America honors with an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at the second and final day of competition at the 2015 NCAA Div. III Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships. The event was held at JDL Fast Track.

Garcia repeated as an All-American in the 200 meters while improving on his fourth-place finish from last winter. He ran the finals in 21.86 seconds after posting a time of 21.97 seconds in prelims Friday. Texas-Tyler's Kevonte Shaw won the national title in 21.75 seconds.

Shinn recorded a time of 8.37 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle finals. Salisbury's Luke Campbell won the title in 7.93 seconds.

Cortland finished with nine team points to tie for 21st place out of 66 schools that scored. Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the team title with 62 points.
