NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Cortland opened the spring portion of its women's golf schedule with a 346-373 dual win over McDaniel College of Maryland. The competition was held at the Dye Course of the Barefoot Resort & Golf Club.

Carly Peters (St. James/Smithtown East) was medalist with an 80, followed by Melissa Rath (East Northport/Northport) with an 84. Samantha Morley (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) finished fourth (90), Anna Haley (Drexel Hill, PA/Bonner & Prendergast) tied for fifth (92), Taylor O'Halloran (Staten Island/Notre Dame Academy) tied for seventh (95) and Bri Sovring (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) finished ninth (96).

Alise McNutt was McDaniel's top golfer with a third-place 88. Casey Marson tied for fifth (92), Janine Borrelli tied for seventh (95), Katie Pass was 10th (98) and Alex Philo finished 11th (104).

Cortland will compete at the Vassar Invitational April 11-12.
