Connor Ten Eyck won the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying height of 4.50 meters (14' 9")

Connor Ten Eyck (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) and
Jarred Iacovelli (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) each won events as Cortland began its men's outdoor track and field season at the Monmouth University Season Opener.
Ten Eyck won the pole vault with a height of 4.50 meters (14' 9"). Iacovelli won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the meet for the second straight year with a time of 9:23.14, more than 12 seconds faster than his winning time last March.
Ten Eyck and Iacovelli registered ECAC-qualifying performances, as did sophomore
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (second place, 9:30.09) and sophomore
Nick Vachon (Endwell/Maine-Endwell) in the high jump (tied for fourth place, 1.95 meters – 6' 4.75").

Dawan Jones (Buffalo/Tapestry Charter) – 2nd place, triple jump (13.25 meters – 43' 5.75") and 4th place, long jump (6.14 meters – 20' 1.75");

Romain Saint Germain (Westbury) – 4th place, 100-meter dash (11.08) and 6th place, 200-meter dash (22.77);

Jimmy Moyer (Oneida) – 5th place, triple jump (12.71 meters – 41' 8.5") and 6th place, long jump (6.07 meters – 19' 11");

Connor Christopherson (Morrisonville/Saranac) – tied for 7th, long jump (6.03 meters – 19' 9.5") and 8th place, 110-meter hurdles (16.33);
Freshman
Charlie Kollmer (Mount Sinai) – 4th place, pole vault (4.35 meters – 14' 3.25") (tied for 2nd-best height; 4th due to misses);
Senior
Nick Avossa (Kingston) – 5th place, 110-meter hurdles (15.93);
Sophomore
Bailey Imbo (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) – 8th place, 800 meters (2:00.05);
Junior
Jerel Williams (East Islip) – 9th place, 100-meter dash (11.39);
Sophomore
Mike Cruz (West Haverstraw/North Rockland) – 10th place, long jump (5.94 meters – 19' 6");
and freshman
Jesse Perrone (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) – 10th place, 5,000 meters (15:57.41).
Cortland was also scheduled to appear at the Ithaca Invitational Saturday, but that meet was canceled. The Red Dragons will host the Cortland Red Dragon Open next Saturday and will also send competitors to the Princeton Sam Howell Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
