Former Cortland two-time All-America wrestler Aljamain Sterling '12 was recently the subject of a feature story by Long Island Newsday. Currently an undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) competitor, Sterling was highlighted for his work coaching the wrestling team at Uniondale High School, his alma mater.

Sterling had a career record of 87-27 in three years at Cortland from 2008-11. He finished fourth nationally in Division III at 133 pounds in 2010 and sixth nationally at 141 pounds in 2011.
