Jesse Perrone was Cortland's second finisher with a 58th-place time of 27:58 over 8,000 meters
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cortland finished in 10th place out of 22 teams at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational men's cross country race.
The Red Dragons finished with 267 points. Ohio Northern won the team title with 46 points, followed by Oberlin (74), Div. I Colgate (132), and Ithaca (137).
Junior
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) placed sixth overall, and was the fifth collegiate finisher, out of 243 runners with a time of 26:14 over 8,000 meters. Oberlin's Geno Arthur won the race in 25:46.
Sophomore
Jesse Perrone (East Syracuse/East Syracuse Minoa) placed 58th overall in 27:58, followed by freshman
Jake Zedack (Mexico) in 67th place (28:07). Rounding out Cortland's top five were sophomore
Aaron Granger (Delevan/Pioneer) in 86th (28:49) and freshman
Mehamed Abdurahim (Rochester/Rush-Henrietta) in 94th (29:00).
In addition, freshman
Christian Yorks (Warwick/Warwick Valley) finished in 100th place (29:08) and freshman
Grant Boyd (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) was 133rd (30:06).
Cortland will compete next Saturday at Roberts Wesleyan's Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
