Cortland Men Win Lehigh Paul Short White Division; Ryan Individual Runner-up

Grant Boyd finished in 59th place out of 266 runners
BETHLEHEM, PA. – Cortland's men's cross country team won the White Division race at the Lehigh University Paul Short Run. The Red Dragons won the title with 87 points, followed by Mary Washington with 126, Gettysburg with 153, and California (Pa.) with 181. A total of 34 schools competed.

Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) finished second out of 266 runners with a time of 26 minutes, 8 seconds over 8,000 meters. Gettysburg's Ben Taber won the race in 25:39. Freshman Cabel McCandless (Lindenhurst) was fourth in 26:22.

The next three Red Dragons finished in the top 40. Nolan Vest (Coram/Longwood) finished 21st in 26:58, just ahead of Aaron Granger (Delevan/Pioneer) in 22nd place in 26:59. Andrew Boyce (Cortland) turned in a 38th-place time of 27:22.

Rounding out Cortland's top seven were Grant Boyd (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) in 59th place (27:46) and Chris Thorpe (Pine Bush) in 63rd place (27:53).

Cortland will compete at the Hamilton College Invitational next Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by the women's race at noon.
