CORTLAND, N.Y. – Four different players scored goals as the Cortland men's soccer team upended nationally 18th-ranked Plattsburgh, 4-0, Saturday afternoon in SUNYAC play at Jets Field. The Red Dragons raised their overall record to 8-2 and conference mark to 3-1. The Cardinals fell to 9-2 and 2-1.

Bronson Harris (West Palm Beach, FL/Seminole Ridge) and
Kevin Carpenter (Kings Park) and freshman
Derek Beers (Franklin) each found the back of the net for Cortland. Senior
Tyler Kirschner (Dix Hills/Half Hollow Hills East) recorded two assists, and sophomore
Michael Miner (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) contributed one assist.
Junior goalie
Connor Young (Bayport/Bayport-Blue Point) made five saves in recording his third consecutive shutout for the Red Dragons. Plattsburgh junior goalie Andrew LaClaustra (Merrick/Sanford H. Calhoun) registered five saves.
Harris scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 41st minute when he won a 50-50 ball versus LaClaustra at the top of the box and headed a shot into the empty goal. Beers made it a 2-0 game in the 49th minute, taking a pass from Kirschner and sending a shot off LaClaustra's hands and inside the right post.
Cortland then added a pair of goals to seal the win after a Plattsburgh player was sent off with a red card in the 73rd minute. Friend scored in the 75th minute, putting a shot off the right post and in from the left side of the box, and Carpenter finished the scoring with a shot inside the left post from the right side of the 18 in the 85th minute.
