Cortland Men Win Dual vs. Visiting Buffalo State, 151-69

Nick Galeto won the 1,000-yard freestyle and 200-yard backstroke
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland won 12 individual events and one relay as the Red Dragons defeated visiting Buffalo State, 149-126, in a men's swimming and diving dual meet.

Noah Farmer (New Hartford) turned in the fastest time in three races. He won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:03.26 and won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.95) and 200-yard individual medley (2:07.99) as exhibition entries.

Three other Red Dragons recorded two individual victories. Nick Galeto (West Islip) won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:42.13) and 200-yard backstroke (2:09.01), Dylan Burns (Cornwall) captured the 50-yard freestyle (22.18) and 100-yard freestyle (49.30), and Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) was the winner in both diving events with scores of 270.95 points on the 3-meter board and 234.25 points on the 1-meter board. Galeto also had the second-best time in the 200-yard IM as an exhibition entry (2:10.21).

Brian Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) was the 200-yard freestyle winner (1:50.42) and finished second in the 500-yard freestyle as an exhibition entry (5:13.78). Luke Rutigliano (Haworth, NJ/Northern Valley Demarest) won the 100-yard backstroke (58.70) and Adam Kirchgessner (West Irondequoit) took top honors in the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.80). Kirchgessner was also second in the 100-yard butterfly (55.91) as an exhibition swimmer.

Cortland opened the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay with Rutligliano, Farmer, Burns and Bailey Eigbrett (Avon) posting a time of 1:42.73.

Cortland returns to action December 2-3 at the Hamilton College Invitational.
