Cortland fell behind 11-4 to start the game and trailed 12-8 after one quarter. Oswego's lead grew to 17-9 three minutes into the second quarter, but the Red Dragons scored the next seven points - five by Vitucci - and trailed 17-16 midway through the period. Oswego pushed its lead to five over the next four minutes, but Rice scored the last three points of the quarter and Cortland trailed 21-19 at halftime.

Oswego briefly pushed its lead to seven in the third quarter, but Cortland came back and eventually took its first lead of the game at 31-30 on a Vitucci layup, set up by Miller, with 3:43 left. Cortland led 37-33 after three quarters when Vitucci nailed a 3-pointer just before the period ended.

The Red Dragons extended a 3-point lead to seven midway through the fourth on a Cassidy Chapko (Valley Falls/Hoosic Valley) layup and a Miller steal and layup. Oswego cut its deficit to five on a Hebert bucket, but Crosby's layup off a Vitucci entry pass to the post with 2:39 left put Cortland back up by seven. Crosby's two free throws at the 1:02 mark gave Cortland its largest lead of the game at 47-38, and the Red Dragons led by at least six points the rest of the way.

Cortland will travel to defending SUNYAC champion New Paltz on Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
