CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland men's ice hockey team completed a home-and-home sweep of Morrisville State with a 4-2 win over the Mustangs in the Red Dragons' final home game of the season. Cortland improved to 9-10-4 overall and 3-8-3 in the SUNYAC with the win.

Three Red Dragons - Michael Mascaro (Merrick/NY Apple Core), Andrew McCann (Bowmanville, ON/Wellington Dukes) and Tommy Nolan (Mahopac/Connecticut Oilers) - each finished with one goal and one assist. Sam Pinsler (Chicago, IL/Green Mountain Glades) notched two assists, and Sean Brown (East Amherst/Northern Cyclones) scored once. Drew Weigman (Gaithersburg, MD/Northern Cyclones) recorded 37 saves for the victory.

Jordan Carvalho (Brampton, ON/Toronto Jr. Canadians) and Danny Liscio (Woodbridge, ON/Trenton) scored goals for Morrisville (5-17-2, 1-14-1 SUNYAC). Steven Dombrosky (Elizabethtown, PA/Pickering Panthers) also finished with 37 saves.

Nolan gave Cortland a 1-0 lead less than three minutes into the game off assists from Pinsler and Mascaro. The Mustangs tied the game less than two minutes later off the stick of Liscio, set up by Ian Wood (Pittsburgh, PA/Dells Ducks) and Brett Johnson (Bronxville/NY Bobcats), and took the lead on a power play goal by Carvalho 12:11 into the first, with assists going to Darren Young (Woodstock, ON/NJ Canucks) and Tyler Lepore (London, ON/Caledonia).

The Red Dragons eventually tied the game with 38 seconds left in the second period when McCann scored on a power play, assisted by Mike Davie (Brooklyn/NY Apple Core). Cortland then struck quickly for the go-ahead goal when Mascaro converted on assists from Nolan and Pinsler just 53 seconds into the third. Brown provided an insurance goal with 2:45 remaining, set up by McCann and Ryan Wagner (Buffalo/Aberdeen Wings).

Cortland will close out the season next weekend with SUNYAC road games at Fredonia on Friday and Buffalo State on Saturday, both at 7 p.m.
