Lee Wade Finishes 12th on 3-Meter Board at Day 1 of NCAA Diving Regional

Lee Wade dives during Day 1 of the NCAA Region 4 Diving Championships in Cortland
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland junior Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) finished in 12th place on the 3-meter board during the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships. Cortland is hosting the two-day event at Holsten Pool.

Wade finished with an 11-dive score of 411.25 points. Arron Carlson of Fredonia finished first with 549.45 points, followed by Johnathan Morris of Rowan at 533.60 points and Samuel Randall of Geneseo at 525.15 points. The top three finishers are guaranteed berths to the NCAA Div. III Championships since six divers will be invited overall, alternating from the top 3-meter finisher to the top 1-meter finisher, then the second 3-meter finisher, and so on, with divers already invited being skipped for the next finisher on that board.

Wade, making his first NCAA regional appearance, will have another shot to qualify on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the 1-meter event. The women's 3-meter competition will precede the men at noon.
