Wade Places Seventh on 1-Meter Board During Day 2 of NCAA Diving Regionals

Lee Wade finished seventh on the 1-meter board and is the regional's second alternate to nationals
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cortland junior Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) finished in seventh place out of 15 divers on the 1-meter board and was named as the second alternate for national qualifying during the second day of competition at the NCAA Division III Region 4 Diving Championships, hosted by Cortland.

Wade finished with a score of 442.55 points. Geneseo's Samuel Randall won the event with 523.10 points, followed by Fredonia teammates Rafael Santiago (500.65) and Arron Carlson (493.85).

The six national men's qualifiers were selected in alternating fashion as follows, with divers already invited being skipped for the next finisher on that board:

1) Aaron Carlson (Fredonia) (1st place, 3 meter)
2) Samuel Randall (Geneseo) (1st place, 1 meter)
3) Johnathan Morris (Rowan) (2nd place, 3 meter)
4) Rafael Santiago (Fredonia) (2nd place, 1 meter)
5) Gabe Arias (Brockport) (5th place, 3 meter) (since Randall was 3rd and Santiago was 4th)
6) Gabriel Bamforth (Carnegie Mellon) (6th place, 1 meter) (since Carlson was 3rd, Morris was 4th and Arias was 5th)

Alternates:

Scott Hillen (Ithaca) (7th place, 3 meter)
Lee Wade (Cortland) (7th place, 1 meter)
