Miranda Fergus won the 3-meter competition Saturday after placing second on 1-meter Friday and is one of seven divers from regional action advancing to the NCAA Championships

Miranda Fergus (Pleasantville/Millbrook) captured first place on the 3-meter board during the second day of the NCAA Division III Region 4 Women's Diving Championships at Cortland's Holsten Pool.
Fergus is one of seven divers from the regional heading to the NCAA Div. III Championships in Greensboro, N.C., March 16-19. She was officially chosen due to her finish on the 3-meter board, even though she had already clinched a berth based on her second-place finish on the 1-meter board Friday.
Fergus won the 3-meter competition with a score of 459.45 points. Anna Belson of Ithaca was second at 444.85 points and Meghan Bartlett of Fredonia was third at 444.15 points. A total of 24 divers competed.
The seven national women's qualifiers were selected in alternating fashion as follows, with divers already invited being skipped for the next finisher on that board:

3) Meghan Kilgallon (Brockport) (3rd place, 1 meter) (since Fergus was 2nd on 1 meter)

5) Katie Helly (Ithaca) (4th place, 1 meter)
6) Meghan Bartlett (Fredonia) (3rd place, 3 meter)
7) Machika Kaku (Carnegie Mellon) (6th place, 1 meter) (since Bartlett was 5th on 1 meter)
Alternates:Lindsey Suddaby (Ithaca) (4th place, 3 meter)
Claudia Kolakowski (Geneseo) (7th place, 1 meter)
