Reeve Callen won both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races and anchored two winning relays
FREDONIA, N.Y. –
Reeve Callen (Oswego) and
Mathew Hasbrouck (New Paltz) each won two individual events and were part of two winning relays as Cortland closed its dual-meet season with a 163-134 loss at Fredonia.
Callen won the 50-yard freestyle (21.64) and 100-yard freestyle (47.89), and Hasbrouck captured the 100-yard butterfly (53.76) and 200-yard butterfly (2:01.45).
Dylan Burns (Cornwall) won the 100-yard backstroke (55.24) and finished second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:04.84).
Burns,
Jack Jakubek (Monroe/Monroe-Woodbury), Hasbrouck and Callen won the 200-yard medley relay (1:38.24), while Burns,
Brian Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point), Hasbrouck and Callen won the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:29.48).
Also for the Red Dragons, Cremer placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:42.35) and
Tim Thatcher (Staten Island/St. Peter's Boys) was runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle (5:08.95).
Cortland will compete at the SUNYAC Championships Wednesday-Saturday, February 17-20 at Erie Community College's Flickinger Center in Buffalo.
