KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Cortland rallied for two runs in the top of the sixth to defeat Washington College (Md.), 2-1, in the Red Dragons' first of two games Friday at the Rebel Spring Games. The Red Dragons later lost to Ramapo, 4-0, and finished their season-opening Florida trip with a 7-3 record.
Cortland will play doubleheaders next Friday at The College of New Jersey at 2 p.m. and Saturday at DeSales at 1 p.m.

Kaleigh Churchill (Camillus/West Genesee) walked and
Niki Barbato (East Meadow/Holy Trinity) sacrifice bunted, with Churchill moving all the way to third on the play. Pinch hitter
Mikayla Shade (Bethlehem) followed with an RBI single to tie the game, and
Jamie Corradina (Dobbs Ferry) hit an RBI double to put Cortland on top.
Alexandrea Flint (Dalton/Keshequa) allowed an RBI single to Elaina DiPrimio in the third, but after that hit retired 15 of the final 16 batters as she improved to 4-1 on the year. DiPrimio went 2-for-2 for the Sho'women (7-9) and Maddie Bennett finished with a complete-game seven-hitter with four walks and two strikeouts.
Corradina finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and
Jamie Bucci (Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow) was 2-for-4 with a double for the Red Dragons.
Diane Cork (Wayland/Wayland-Cohocton) went 1-for-3 with a walk and Churchill reached base twice on walks.
Ramapo 4, Cortland 0 Katrina Buczkowski threw a four-hit shutout to earn the win for the Roadrunners (7-5). She struck out seven and walked one. Danielle Saporito went 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored and Melanie Walling finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Bucci was 3-for-3 to account for three of Cortland's four hits. She was the lone Red Dragon to reach scoring position when she singled with one out and stole second with two outs in the third.
Jamie Lachall (Philadelphia, PA/Sun Valley) started and gave up five hits and three runs, two earned, in five innings. She fanned three batters and walked one.
Sam Van Dorn (Medford/Patchogue-Medford) allowed one run on one hit over the final two innings.
Walling's RBI single gave Ramapo a 1-0 lead in the first. Melissa Moreno added an RBI single in the third, and in the fifth Saporito doubled and scored on a Walling two-out single. Grace Brenna finished the scoring with a solo homer in the sixth.
