Miranda Fergus Places 17th on 3-Meter Board at NCAA Championships

Miranda Fergus was making her second NCAA championship appearance
GREENSBORO, N.C. – SUNY Cortland senior Miranda Fergus (Millbrook) finished in 17th place in 3-meter diving during the final day of the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.

The four-day championship meet was being conducted at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and is hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Cortland finished with one team point as a result of Fergus' 16th-place effort on the 1-meter board Thursday and tied for 54th place in the final team standings.

Fergus finished with a 3-meter score of 385.20 points in preliminaries. She missed a top-16 finish, which would have earned her honorable mention All-America honors for the second time, by less than nine points. The top 16 divers advanced to either the finals (1-8) or consolation finals (9-16).

Fergus was making her second NCAA championship appearance. She finished 18th on the 3-meter board and 13th on the 1-meter board as a sophomore.
