Hannah Anthes led off Cortland's 4x400-meter relay team that posted an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:01.65
LEWISBURG, PA.– Seven Cortland individuals and one relay team qualified for the ECAC Division III Championships with their performances at the two-day Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic Women's Track and Field meet.

Kayla Blomback (Orchard Park) recorded the Red Dragons' highest placement with an eighth-place time of 4:42.48 out of 79 runners in the unseeded 1,500-meter run. Mary Baughman (Rush/Rush-Henrietta) was 12th in the unseeded 5,000 meters out of 75 entrants with a time of 17:55.59.

Dana Kupiec (Salem) and Jennifer Jelic (Oneonta) each met ECAC standards in the 400-meter hurdles. Kupiec was 17th in 1:04.87 and Jelic finished 27th in 1:06.19. Cortland also had two ECAC qualifiers in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Allison Schumann (North Salem) placed 27th (11:35.53) and Sara Billings (Gansevoort/South Glens Falls) was 30th (11:43.59).

The Red Dragons' other individual ECAC qualifier was Midge Moore (Massapequa) with a 19th-place time of 25.98 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Moore also teamed with Hannah Anthes (Liverpool), Jelic and Kupiec for an ECAC eighth-place time of 4:01.65 in the 4x400-meter relay.

Moore finished 19th in the 100-meter dash in 12.78 seconds, narrowly missing the ECAC standard of 12.65 seconds. Diamond Jackson (Farmingville/Sachem East) recorded a 20th-place distance of 37.12 meters (121' 9") in the discus, missing ECAC status by less than two feet.

Three Red Dragon pole vaulters cleared 3.30 meters (10' 10"), which is just shy of the ECAC pole vault standard of 3.35 meters, but each missed at their attempts at 3.45 meters. Jane Martinez (East Lyme, CT) finished in 12th place, while Alex Seymour (Dryden) and Emily Taylor (Huntington/John H. Glenn) tied for 15th place, due to number of misses. Martinez cleared both 3.15 and 3.30 meters on her first attempts. Seymour and Taylor each missed once at both of those heights.

Cortland is scheduled to send competitors to the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday, April 22, and to the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Saturday, April 23.
