C.J. White met ECAC standards in the triple jump with a second-place distance of 13.81 meters (45' 3.75")
ITHACA, N.Y. -
Dawan Jones (Buffalo/Tapestry Charter) posted a national top-20 distance in the triple jump and recorded one of Cortland's nine ECAC Division III Championship qualifying performances at the Cornell University Upstate Challenge men's outdoor track and field meet. The Red Dragons are currently ranked fourth in the latest Division III national rankings.

Jones won the triple jump with a distance of 14.27 meters (46' 10"), which currently ranks 17th nationally.
C.J. White (Middletown) was second at 13.81 meters (45' 3.75"), also an ECAC mark.

Mitch Couch (Oneonta) hit ECAC standards in the shot put with his winning distance of 14.69 meters (48' 2.5") and the discus with his third-place throw of 45.00 meters (147' 8"). Three Red Dragons met ECAC standards in the 110-meter hurdles.
Jack Flood (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) was first in 15.00 seconds and
Micheal Outing (Farmingdale) was second in 15.05 seconds.
Connor Christopherson (Morrisonville/Saranac) was second in the prelims at 15.43 seconds, but did not compete in the finals.

Cortland's other ECAC qualifiers were
Romain Saint Germain (Westbury), who placed second in the 100-meter dash (10.88), and
Nick Vachon (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell), who cleared 1.93 meters (6' 4") as the lone competitor in the high jump.

Two other Red Dragons earned victories on the day.
Austen Johnson (Jamestown) won the 400-meter hurdles (56.39), while
Charlie Kollmer (Mount Sinai) won the pole vault. Kollmer was one of three competitors to clear 4.35 meters (14' 3.25"), but he cleared it on his first attempt while the others took either two or three tries, giving Kollmer the win.
Scored as separate dual meets, Cortland defeated Cornell (95-81), Colgate (125-33), Canisius (125-21) and Siena (123-24).

Cortland will compete at a meet hosted by Ithaca College on Tuesday, April 26, at 3:30 p.m.
