Four Red Dragon Men Post Multiple Victories in Dual-Meet Loss at Oswego

Dylan Burns won the 100-yard backstroke and 50-yard freestyle, and he anchored the winning 200-yard medley relay team
OSWEGO, N.Y. – Four Cortland competitors earned two individual victories each in the Red Dragons' 155-141 men's swimming and diving dual-meet loss at Oswego.

Dylan Burns (Cornwall) won both the 50-yard freestyle (22.48) and 100-yard backstroke (55.01). He also placed second in the 100-yard freestyle (50.92). Adam Kirchgessner (West Irondequoit) captured the 200-yard butterfly in 2:08.50, winning by less than three tenths of a second, and he won the 100-yard butterfly (57.03).

Tim Rokos (Duanesburg) took top honors in both the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.41) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.17), and he finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.40). Lee Wade (Holtsville/Sachem East) was victorious in both diving events. He posted scores of 274.20 points on the 3-meter board and 254.85 points on the 1-meter board.

Cortland won the opening 200-yard medley relay as Thomas Ryan (Long Beach), Noah Farmer (New Hartford), Bailey Eigbrett (Avon) and Burns recorded a time of 1:42.70 for a victory by 0.22 seconds.

Oswego sealed its team victory by capturing the 400-yard freestyle relay. Cortland finished second as Zach Healy (Orchard Park), Eigbrett, Brian Cremer (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) and Kirchgessner finished in 3:23.69. In addition for Cortland, Farmer registered three second-place finishes with times of 1:05.29 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:22.05 in the 200-yard breaststroke, and 2:07.54 in the 200-yard IM.

Cortland returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Division II Le Moyne College.
