CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland earned three individual event victories and three runner-up showings in a 216-83 dual-meet loss to visiting Geneseo.

Heidi Simpfenderfer (Poughkeepsie/Roy C. Ketcham) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:02.72 and was second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:22.76). Marissa Kordal (Eden) also registered first and second-place finishes; she won the 200-yard butterfly (2:17.51) and was runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.96).

Kelly Davey (Plattsburgh) won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:00.74, more than two and a half seconds faster than the second-place swimmer.

Also for Cortland, Caroline Tighe (East Meadow) turned in a second-place score of 219.85 points in 1-meter diving.

Cortland returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 18, in a dual meet at Buffalo State. The meet will start at 1 p.m.
