BOSTON, MASS. and ITHACA, N.Y. – Nine ECAC-qualifying efforts highlighted the Red Dragons' performance at two weekend men's indoor track and field meets.
At Boston University's Valentine Invitational, the Red Dragons had two ECAC-qualifying finishes in the mile run.
Aaron Granger (Delevan/Pioneer) finished with a time of 4:18.24 and
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) clocked in at 4:21.53.
Romain Saint Germain (Westbury) placed 62nd and
Enoch Jemmott (Brooklyn/South Shore) placed 63rd out of 225 participants in the 200-meter dash. Both Germain and Jemmott finished with times of 22.50 seconds.
Noah Serrette (Lawrence) placed 68th out of 202 participants in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 50.13 seconds.
At Sunday's Cornell Kane Invitational, long jumper
Dev Williams (Syracuse/Corcoran) had a first place finish of 7.15 meters (23' 5.5"), an ECAC qualifier.
Dawan Jones (Buffalo/Tapestry Charter) finished fifth and
C.J. White (Middletown) finished sixth in the triple jump, both with ECAC-qualifying distances. Jones covered 14.45 meters (47' 5") and White 14.09 meters (46' 2.75").
Mitch Couch (Oneonta) finished second in the shot put at 15.04 meters (49' 4.25"),
Nick Vachon (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) was third in the high jump at 1.95 meters (6' 4.75"), and
Charlie Kollmer (Mount Sinai) placed sixth in the pole vault at 4.65 meters (15' 3"), all with ECAC marks.
Storm Malone (Harrison/Highland) also met ECAC standards with his fourth-place time of 8.28 seconds in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles.
Other highlights at Cornell included
Tyler Hochadel (Hamburg/Frontier) finishing sixth in the weight throw (14.19 meters/46' 6.75") and eighth in the shot put (13.18 meters/43' 3"),
Brent DiVittorio (Brewster) placing sixth in the long jump (6.45 meters/21' 2"),
Liam Joyce (Dryden) finishing seventh in the 60-meter dash (7.27), and
Andrew Boyce (Cortland) turning in a ninth place finish in the mile (4:34.28).
The Red Dragons return to action next Saturday with competitors at both the Utica Pioneer Invitational and the Cornell Deneault Memorial.
