Noah Serrette finished 11th in the 400-meter hurdles and anchored Cortland's 13th-place 4x400-meter relay team, both with ECAC marks
LEWISBURG, PA. – Cortland athletes totaled 13 ECAC-qualifying performances at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic men's track and field meet Friday and Saturday.
Storm Malone (Harrison/Highland) finished third out of 37 competitors in the 110-meter hurdles in 14.86 seconds, while
Dev Williams (Syracuse/Corcoran) placed fourth of 40 in the long jump at 7.03 meters (23' 0.75").
Austen Johnson (Jamestown) and
Noah Serrette (Lawrence) finished 10th (55.23) and 11th (55.29), respectively, in a field of 48 in the 400-meter hurdles. They also comprised half of Cortland's 4x400-meter relay team, along with
Enoch Jemmott (Brooklyn/South Shore) and
Andre Brown (Kingston, Jamaica/Oberlin), that finished 13th in 3:22.98.
Mitch Couch (Oneonta) met ECAC standards in three events. He was 11th of 42 in the shot put (15.02 meters/49' 3.5"), 11th of 40 in the hammer throw (54.79 meters/179' 9"), and 13th of 37 in the discus (46.38 meters/152' 2").
C.J. White (Middletown) and
Dawan Jones (Bufaflo/Tapestry Charter) both recorded ECAC distances in the triple jump. White finished 10th at 13.96 meters (45' 9.75"), with Jones right behind him in 11th at 13.94 meters (45' 9").
Other ECAC qualifiers for the Red Dragons included:
Matt Greenlaw (Warwick/Warwick Valley) in the pole vault (14th place, 4.35 meters/14' 3.25");
Mitch Ryan (Plattsburgh/Seton Catholic) in the 1,500 meters (20th place, 3:59.17); and
Grant Boyd (Newburgh/Newburgh Free Academy) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (37th place, 9:45.64).
Cortland will host the Cortland Classic next Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23. The Red Dragons are also scheduled to send some competitors to the Princeton Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday.
