CORTLAND, N.Y. - Cortland recorded four first-place finishes and seven ECAC-qualifying finishes at the two-day Cortland Classic, hosted by the Red Dragons at the SUNY Cortland Stadium Complex.

The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of Midge Moore (Massapequa), Dana Kupiec (Salem), Dana Messina (East Meadow) and Kelly Gardner (Lake Ronkonkoma/Sachem North) placed first with an ECAC-qualifying time of 48.35 seconds. This time ranks the Red Dragons 23rd nationally in Division III.

Moore won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.43 seconds and Kupiec placed first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.60, both ECAC qualifiers. Kupiec also placed third in the 100-meter dash with an ECAC-qualifying finish of 12.54 seconds.

Harley Buczkowski (Holland Patent) nearly broke the school record in the hammer throw with her fifth-place ECAC distance of 45.60 meters (149' 7"), missing the mark by about an inch. Buczkowski also posted an ECAC mark in the discus with a sixth-place throw of 36.86 meters (120' 11").

Megan Wagner (Niskayuna) was Cortland's other ECAC qualifier as she finished third in the 5000 meters, clocking in at 18:06.98.

Cat Lutjen (Sound Beach/Miller Place) won the javelin with a distance of 32.54 meters (106' 9") and Moore placed second in the 200-meter dash (26.12).

Cortland will compete this upcoming Tuesday, April 25, at the Ithaca College Tuesday Meet.
