CORTLAND, N.Y. –
Jamie Lachall (Philadelphia, PA/Sun Valley) pitched a complete game shutout and
Andrea Schoonmaker (Marlboro) went 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead Cortland to a 4-0 victory over Oswego in the first game of a SUNYAC doubleheader.
Alexandrea Flint (Dalton/Keshequa) and
Sam Van Dorn (Medford/Patchogue-Medford) combined for a five-hit shutout as the Red Dragons (16-6, 6-0 SUNYAC) swept the Lakers (4-12, 0-2 SUNYAC) with a 2-0 triumph in the second game.
Cortland will host St. John Fisher in a non-conference doubleheader that was moved from Tuesday to Monday, with a scheduled first pitch for 3 p.m.
Cortland 4, Oswego 0
Cortland tallied one run each in innings 3-6. In the third inning,
Ericka Sadowski (Liverpool) hit a two-out single and stole second and Schoonmaker followed with an RBI single through the right side.
Victoria Brown (Fresh Meadows/Archbishop Molloy) hit an RBI single in the fourth inning,
Rosie Phillips (Geneva/Our Lady of Mercy) knocked in a run with a groundout in the fifth and
Hannah Feldman (Buffalo/Sweet Home) hit a pinch-hit RBI single to cap the scoring in the sixth.
Lachall improved to 6-2 after allowing two hits and no walks with four strikeouts. Brown and Phillips each batted 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Melissa Mulvaney went 1-2 for Oswego, while Rebecca Vilchez dropped to 2-4 on the season. She allowed four runs on 11 hits with a strikeout in six innings of action.

The Red Dragons scored both runs in the second inning.
Niki Barbato (East Meadow/Holy Trinity) and Phillips had back-to-back walks and
Stephanie Tirone (Williamsville/Williamsville South) advanced the runners with a sacrifice bunt.
Kelly O'Gorman (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) singled in Barbato and Phillips also scored on the play due to a fielding error by an Oswego outfielder.
In six innings, Flint allowed five hits with no walks and struck four to earn her fifth win on the year. Van Dorn notched her second save of the season after pitching a hitless seventh inning. O'Gorman batted 1-for-2 with an RBI and
Skyler Hoyt (Endicott/Union-Endicott) and Schoonmaker each went 1-for-3.
The Lakers outhit Cortland 5-3, but stranded a runner on second base in three different innings. Jessica Roe permitted two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with one strikeout. Ashley Lyman was 2-for-3.
