GENEVA, OHIO - Cortland's Dana Kupiec (Salem) finished in 18th place in the 400-meter hurdles during the opening day of the NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Mount Union is the host school for the three-day event at the SPIRE Institute.

Kupiec finished her heat in 1:03.77 in rainy conditions. Nine runners advanced to the finals - the winner of each of the three heats and the next six fastest times.

Cortland returns to action on Friday when Midge Moore (Massapequa) competes in the 100-meter dash at 3:15 p.m.
