Ryan Konotopskyj was Cortland's top finisher with a 15th-place time of 27:51.07 over 8,000 meters
GLASSBORO, N.J. -
Ryan Konotopskyj (East Amherst/Williamsville North) finished 15th out of 161 runners to lead Cortland's men's cross country team at the Rowan University Bill Fritz Invitational.
The Red Dragons finished fifth out of 14 schools in the team scoring with 148 points. Rowan was the team champion with 27 points.
Konotopskyj covered the 8,000-meter course in 27:51.07. RIT's Otto Kingstedt won the race in 25:33.33.
Cabel McCandless (Lindenhurst) placed 22nd in 28:12.54, with
Nolan Vest (Coram/Longwood) 27th in 28:21.91.
Cortland earned its fifth-place finish despite having only five runners compete.
Chris Thorpe (Pine Bush) ended 48th in 29:34.47 and
Pat Carew (Levittown/Division Avenue) crossed the finish line 95th in 31:46.11.
Cortland returns to action at the Roberts Wesleyan Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 23.
